Joost van Berckel

TYPO3, Peru and family life

About me

My name is Joost van Berckel and I was born in 1973 in the small village of Ter Aar, in the Netherlands. Since my youth I grew up with computers and music, especially Italo and pop of the eighties (1984!). My father and mother were fond of travelling so I had the chance to visit a lot of interesting places in europe. My favorite holidays I spent in Croatia (former Jugoslavia), to be exact in Rovinj.

In 1998 I had the chance to do my thesis for the Haagse Hogeschool, Commercieel Ingenieur Elektrotechniek, in a country far away from my hometown Peru. Here I fell in love with the beautiful culture, way of living, the Andes, Salsa, Cumbia and Merengue music and especially my wife Mabel. Later on she decided to come to the Netherlands to start a new life with me.

After my study and thesis in Peru I started to work as software developer at TU Delft in Delft. I started my work with programm languages like ASP, C# (Visual Studio and Visual Studio.NET). Since 2003 I was infected by the virus TYPO3 and until now I am specialized in TYPO3 consultancy. In november 2008 I founded my own TYPO3 company Content Online.

This is my life in a nutshell.
